I've starting reloading some 30-06 loads for my Steyr Prohunter, and picked up a whole selection of bullets, the triple X shocks looking pretty interesting. With the reduced friction due to the grooves, and subsquent lower pressures produced, has anyone 'overloaded' their loads by the 2 grn. max stipulated by Barnes? They say to advance the loads in 0.5 grn. increments. Higher velocities are always desired, but do these long bullets stay pretty stable?

I have loaded Triple Shocks for both .308 and 300 Win Mag and have found that for me it is not necessary to exceed Barnes X loads as, in my guns, sub-minute 5 shot groups are achieved in the first grain or so from minimum loads. Velocity and trajectory are not the only criteria that one should look at, accuracy and recoil are also important considerations.
