Just getting into reloading and actually have never reloaded anything but shot shells.
I want to reload for my Kimber Chassic 7mm08. I have been looking at Barnes triple X and was thinking that 140grn would be best for Deer sized critters. Anyone loading these? Any receipes -- I have IMR 4350 & Hodgon H 4350
Cheers, thanks!

Like A-zone said, these bullets will work well on a variety of animal sizes. I've seen or used the 130 gr 270 bullets work on everything from pronghorn to elk, but mostly deer. I can't give you a recipe for your 7/08, but I think you are making a good choice even if they are perhaps a little "overkill" for deer sized animals.

Grouser,
for deer I would stick with old fashioned Nosler Partition or just any Ballistic Tip bullet like Nosler or Hornady.
TSX, is great for moose and bear.

I pounded a nice 11 pointer with a tripple shock this year, bag flop!! dead before he hit the ground
I use these bullets in all my higher velocity hunting rifles.
The bullet construction is excellent and i have only had great results with them in 7mm Rums, 300 wbys and a 30-378 they sure hold together break bone and penetrate like hell.
I have yet to recover a bullet but i have recoverd all my animals not a stone throw away

My 7mm-08 likes 44 gr. of RL15, under a 120 TSX. R-P cases, and a Fed. 210 primer. Others have had eaqually good results w/ the same load. Bam flop on my freezer buck at 200 m this year. I havn't tried the 140 TSX, but RL15 and 139 Hornady spbt was my go to load before the 120. Rifle is a Win M70classic featherweight.

dont forget to try a 140 grain Accubond or Partition too, as well as RL15, Varget, and/or IMR 4064 & 4007 SSC

but I think a 140 TSX & 4350 is a good combo

120tsx imr4895 42.1gr.@3125fps.is ole ladies fav for deer in her tikka
7 mullies and 3 whitetail later
140 tsx she also liked but she says she likes the 120's better

140 Triple shock

I had the great pleasure to shoot two nice bucks this year with my 7x57 mauser with these 140 gr bullets. the whitey was a fairly long shot at 280 yards, as I was zero'd at 200, I just held on the top of his back and down he went. The mule buck I got was much closer and he ran 30 yards before falling over on his back. Great performance at close range and at distance as well. FS

Great choice, I use TSX bullets whenever I have more than one species tag in my pack. I generally don'tuse them just for whitetails, this year I shot three whitetails with 150 gr btips from my 308. I always shoot the 168 TSX from my 300 win mag.
