Anyone using these bullets for hunting? What are your experiences? I have a load worked up with 165G interlocks for my .300wsm, but was recently given a box of these, same weight. Reviews I read when I google it are somewhat mixed. Would they be better for caribou and moose than the hornady interlocks?

IMO, they are better than the interlocks for anything...Period.

I use them when I can find them in my 300RUM for pretty much everything. (Other wise I use 168TSX)

Personally, I've never had a problem with them for anything.

In a couple rifles I also had quite severe copper fouling with the original Barnes X and Barnes XBTs.

BUT!!!! I shot a deer with a 130 gr XBT in my .280 Rem, and that deer went down like it had been hit by the Hammer of Thor. I had excellent accuracy with those bullets, but it only took a half-dozen shots for accuracy to go south because of fouling.

So, my experience was that they are excellent bullets for game, but you need to keep a close eye on how badly they foul YOUR rifle, if at all.

HTH.

I've had great success with Barnes XBT and TSX in .243 , .264 mag , .270 , .270 WSM , & .338 mag . I was using the coated XBT but have moved on to the TSX that I moly coat . They have served me well on deer , elk & moose . I havn't had a fouling problem using coating and have found very good accuracy

I haven't found any problem with the TSX without the coating, and the groups from a clean barrel are much better than with moly coated bullets.
