Barnes XCT bullets

Blue Meanies were hunting bullets, plain and simple. Just like the original X bulet, they were accurate or not, depending on your barrel. They will penetrate the hell out of stuff, easily blow through moose or grizzly shoulders. I wouldn't bother with them in a precision rifle, but they will still kill stuff.

Will that coating foul a match barrel?

When Barnes started coating their bullets it was done to help solve a problem they had with copper fouling. I for one wouldn't shoot some of their bullets because they were horrific foulers. Especially their early monolithics. Their match bullets with J4 jackets were OK and extremely accurate but they weren't coated and were made out of slightly harder copper and didn't foul nearly as bad.

They won't harm you match rifle or cause exceptional fouling but don't expect match accuracy out of them. They were designed as hunting bullets with those accuracy parameters in mind.
