hey,

i have recently purchased a stag 10 receiver set, and am looking to build a DMR/long rang precision gas gun, in 6.5 creedmoor. ive been looking into DRACOS BARRELS and have not seen much information on them. they are definitely a barrel i'm interested in, and they claim to be very accurate, sub moa barrels with a life time warranty. so if you shoot it out they will replace it for free. wonder if anyone has used one before or knows anything about them.

I am interested in an IBI stainless steel AR10 barrel but they only offer a shiny finish. Blackened finish would be nice but they don't offer that. Not sure why when other makers offer stainless in blackened finish?

I love it.

The OP is interested in a unique barrel concept, and posters suggest a barrel brand that doesn't do anything the Draco barrel claims to do. Barrel whip mitigation from the straight jacket design, superior heat dissipation, and lifetime warranty if you ever suffer accuracy degradation that is worse than 1 MOA (this includes throat errosion and heat checking/fire cracking). IBI, or for that matter any other barrel brand (exception maybe the straight jacket barrel from TacomHQ) doesn't do what Dracos claims to do - it's an inventive design.

Whether it works or not I have no clue. Pretty bold claims, but I know no one who has personal experience with these barrels. I haven't seen much written up about them either. Supposedly they stand by their accuracy warranty 100%, so at least you know you have that going for you if you purchase the barrel. Price doesn't seem that bad either.

I've heard too many bad things about IBI to go with them, but that's beyond the point of this thread. Be curious to see if anyone has experience with the Draco's system, doesn't seem like there is too many of them in the wild. Not in my circles anyways.

Like others have said, just get the barrel cerakoted if that's what you want. Any gunsmith should be able to accomplish that for you.

If you want light, get a Faxon.

If you want the best barrel for the money, get a Ballistic Advantage.

Any of the more expensive barrels are just fluff. You'll likely never be able to out shoot either of the barrels mentioned above.

An importer should be able to get you one although there are a lot of great choices much more readily available.

Saw your comments on SnipersHide about IBI barrels.
Anyways, somebody named MDT_Josh stated his 2 IBI barrels used at 1300 yards produced no noticeable change in impact with standard loads.
So, wonnabesniper buy IBI with confidence. This is not a paid advertisement, I'm just sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.

I agree, posts about traditional barrel makers are off topic here.

I found Falkor Petra rifles use the Dracos barrels. Not sure how much the companies are related but interesting.

Falkor Dracos barrels are made by Falkor. Dracos is the marketing separation so other rifle manufactures do not need to use Falkor's name in their marketing from what I can guess.

I have intentions to use Dracos barrels on a couple projects once panic buying subsides and I can afford to finish those projects.

Really? I didn't figure, thanks.

Falkor rifles are sold at Brownells so they can certainly special order Dracos and guide the export process.

Let us know how you like them.

I am pretty sure that Dracos Straight Jacket barrels were originally Teludyne Tech Straight Jacket barrels. I was interested in their stuff many years ago and had talked with them at that time before Falkor started using their system. Teludyne offers stand alone barrels, systems and retrofits onto bolt guns and AR variants and offer the sleeve in aluminum and titanium.
They have had some success but also made ridiculous claims about strings of fire and accuracy at extreme long range. It was with their outlandish claims that they seemed to have alienated themselves from serious shooters and possibly the reason why Falkor has marketed them under another name.
