You could buy rifle blanks and cut them up to make several pistol blanks. You could also cut up an old cooey 22 barrel and have it machined to fit your pistol.

cutting a barrel blank into pieces is one thing,
but cutting an existing rifle barrel down into pistol length sections would be illegal.........
Once a barrel is off the gun it becomes a piece of metal. Only illegal if he put it back on the rifle again.
The remaining of the barrel cannot be installed on any existing weapon because the two sides have been cut with a grinder. How could it be illegal?

I guess we should all keep our mouths shut so "that guy" doesn't have to waste his time with us and our barrel blanks. Gunsmiths must have a special licence to be able to cut barrels when they are working.
