I cleaned first with Barnes copper melt on a patch let sit for 5 minutes, then mount a brush run it threw ten times or so then Dry patch till bore is dry( clean pathes ),I then wet a patch with rubbing alcohol and run it threw they dry patch it...

then go to the range fire 20rds(NOT FAST) and redo it again...

I'm new to this sport and know nothing....so take it for what it's worth. I researched heavily and did this.........

1 shot clean (3X)
3 shots clean (3X)
5 shots clean (3x)

I have a Tikka T3 Lite in stainless.

It doesn't foul very much now. I've shot 60 rounds and got very little 'blue' when cleaning. Shoots great.

If I had my time back..I would have been even more methodical on the shoot clean thing...but I am still not convinced of the reason why.........better safe than sorry.

Oh, I wanted to say, I never brush any of my barrels...patches only..and I use a patch worm. If you stay on top of your cleaning and use good stuff (Barnes, 7.62 etc.) this seems to be more than enough. For my brothers neglected barrel I had to resort to a brush...but used it 'properly' and with respect.

I shoot mostly corrosive ammo so I clean with boiling water, then brush with solvent, then about 1/2 dozen patches. been doing so for about 20 years, I guess my barrels aren`t broken in yet according to some.
