Barrel change

I do n ot have all info yet but a guy at work asked if I could change his barrel on his shotgun. He blew it up with steel ammo( Full Choke ). Question is will it be a pain to find a barrel? I will be looking in about a week with all info. And would this be the forum to find or in the Misc items forum?

Might be an idea to mention the make and model of shotgun.

Make/model/caliber/preferred lenght ? Oh and also take a REAL good look at the bolt, I've seen an Ithaca crack a bolt after blowing up a barrel.

Yes I am aware of that but I do not have info yet. i was just seeing how much of an issue it might be to change and find a barrel. I hear barrels take 10 months to get shipped up from states?

If its an 870.or a mossberg 500 you will find one the next day (almost) a Snabler & Freitzer will take a little longer. We will keep watching for the update AJ

"...barrels take..." There are very few barrels you can't get here with no fuss. Most gun shops will either have barrels or be able to get whatever barrel your buddy wants if their supplier has it in stock.
"...blew it up with steel ammo..." That suggests it's an older shotgun, but that's not a big deal. It does depend on what it is though.
