Barrel Cover

I'm not sure what forum this question is appropriate for but since it concerns accuracy here goes. I have a heavy barrel rifle in .223. What I would like to know before I have to start testing (as I've said before I'm lazy) is whether or not covering the barrel with camo burlap or a veil will significantly degrade accuracy. I want to try it out on coyotes to a max of 300 meters.

on a heavy barrel rifle, chances of it doing any thing with accuracy is pretty much non existent, but on the other end it may act as an insulator and allow the barrel to heat up quicker and stay hot longer

I would bet that anything that is loose and hanging on the barrel will effect harmonics. Something light weight such as camoform wrap or a little piece of fabric probably won't change it enough at those distances to be noticeable.
Your body shivering in the cold would be more of a concern in my book.
