Need your advise/info on what barrel crowns are available and are there advantages to one over the other. Is there one that has been proven to be the best overall? I would consider myself a long range hunter. I shoot prone 85% of the time.
Thx guys.

lots of options , but for hunting slash bushwork a recessed crown would be my go too

It doesn't matter what style of crown, one does not shoot better... it should be square to the bore and burr free...

Recessed look really nice. I like to finish all crowns with a piloted 60 degree reamer. It leaves a fine finish and protects the 'edge' well. It shoots as well as any crown.

Not too sure? There is lot of literature on this subject. I once read an article old Boots Olyemer, not sure if that is the right spelling, wrote. It was the kind of stuff that makes your head hurt. Physics behind the sound wave and effects on the bullet from a 11 degree to a straight. There was no real "best" I think most of it is preference, like Jamie stated, and look. Some might say one is better than the others but I have shot many and they all shoot. Not to state the obvious but... true to the bore is the best.
