Barrel cut remington 742

Will if affect the operation was my 22 inch gun if I cut it back to 18.5? 308 caliber

I had a 742 (.308) and a 7400 (.308) both shortened to 19". Both functioned fine with factory loads. I did not shoot any reloads out of them though.

It will if it ends up 1/8 of an inch shorter...
