I have been reading different forums (mostly center fire) and they warn against letting the barrel get too warm. Does this effect rimfires the same way?

Thanks,
Adam

Im going to say in a way Yes.

I have a Butler Creek SS fluted barrel on my 10/22. I have shot rapid fire 25 round mags and the barrel just gets warm. I don't thing barrel heat in a rimfire should be a concern.

I had smoke comming from my Ruger 1022, it stayed for a min. But thats after I fired 170rds in under a min. I though I was going melt the Barrel Band from my MG42 Stock. Being a MG in real life, smoke = hot and I dont feel like touching it.
