Barrel help?

I am currently doing research on what barrel to get for my ar build. I know i want to run a 18 inch but am confused about mid length and rifle lenght gas system. I am going to be using a collapsible stock if it makes a difference? So can anyone explain the difference between the two length systems and what buffer tube i would need for each?

Buffer tube and stock are not related to your barrel or gas tube. Make sure you pic a stock that matches your buffer tube. Milspec or commercial.

For the barrel, it'll usually say in the barrel description the gas block size needed and the gas tube length needed.

Get rifle length. Lower impulse and less recoil. Makes for a super smooth shooting AR15.

The longer the gas system, the better. I believe you'll have adequate dwell time, so I say go for it. The recoil is not only milder but smoother as well. Pair that we an adjustable gas block, and itll be as smooth as butter.
