Barrel install cost?

Well, I have a Remington Model 700 in 204 Ruger that I cant seem to get to shoot as good as I would like it too. But anywho, I have a 17 Remington barrel taken off a another 700, I was wondering what a smith might charge to install the barrel onto my reciever. Thanks for the help.

I would hazard

a guess at about 100.00 -150.00.

Any how how's it going? Out shooting yotes or to busy? Hope to get my whitetail this Fri or Sat, then the yotes begin.

I would try to ascertain what the accuracy problem with your gun is before I try to swap barrels. The 204 barrel might not be the problem. If you have exhausted your options and are now at the stage that the barrel itself is the problem then installing a known good shooter will certainly cure your accuracy problem. A good smith will charge you +/- $200 for a swap if he has to rechamber, on the odd chance that everything fits without a rechamber job should not cost more than $50, it's only a matter of screwing on the new barrel. Either way a good smith will tell you which way you need to go after carefull measuring and headspace checks.
