Barrel length in a mountain rifle

this is what I ended up with. Rem 700 mountain rifle 30-06 with B&C medalist ADL style stock. Talley rings and leupold vxll 3-9x40 scope. the whole package as pictured is under 7lbs. has a 22" barrel

Nice set up! I got the mate to that in a 700 BDL 257Roberts with a VXII 2x7.
