Sorry if this is a silly questions, but are the barrels on 4'' S&W revolvers true 4 inchers or are they 4.2'' canada legal? A lot of the new smith revolvers being marketed as classics are listed as having 4 inch barrels, but is this really so? Are they offered with Canadian law compliant barrels?

Thanks

Possibly.

Not likely.

Your welcome.

Better off telling us what you're look at/for and the forum members will give you some great advice. Maybe even suggest alternatives.

Remember...

Prohibited

"Handguns with a barrel length of 105 mm or less, and handguns that discharge .25 or .32 calibre ammunition, except for a few specific models used in International Shooting Union competitions;."

I realize that if they are under 105mm they are prohibited, but Ruger literature (not sure about the recent catalogue, but with some of the older ones) say that the GP100 has a 4'' barrel when in reality the barrel is a Canada-compliant 4.2''

I was asking because a lot of the classic series revolvers are listed as having 4'' barrels.

All the Smiths u are seeing are 4 inches.

They have only made one Canadian compliant 4.2 inch gun as far as I know, and they are marketed as such.

The Rugers we are getting is a special series made for Canada as far as I know, and are not the same as the US 4 inch models.
