Ok English is'nt my best, pardon me if is hard to read.

I'm in a project for a upper. I want a specific look for it. All the barrel in the upper and a part of my flash hider ( XB1) out of upper. My upper is a GEN2 SS Midwest industries if it's change something for the answer. My big question, how much length of a 10.5 inch barrel is out of the upper recever. And if I pick a 10.5inch barrel, is it will be ok or I need to take a 11.5inch .

Thank you for the help.

The barrel measurement is from the breach face, so a 10.5" barrel measured from the outer front surface of the upper receiver would be right about 10". This means that if you put a 10" railed handguard over a 10.5" barrel, the barrel would be flush with the end of the handguard. Then you'd add the muzzle device which would be exposed completely. If you wanna expose only part of the muzzle device, then you'd want an 11 or 11.5" handguard.

Make sense?
