Barrel length vs overall length

Hi all

I'm a newbie on the forum and pretty much learning by reading posts from more experienced shooters.

I pwn different fine firearms and recently purchased a Buckmark Target Rifle Shot Show that I should receive next week.

I see that many 10-22 owners modify their rifles by cutting down or putting shorter aftermarket barrels...

What are the regulations regarding barrel length and overall length ?

A barrel cannot be cut to less than 18".
A replacement barrel may be shorter; overall length must exceed 26".
