Barrel length

Hi all,
I apologise if this question has been asked and answered somewhere in this forum, but I have been unable to find it.
I am hoping someone can refresh my memory regarding barrel length for my Ruger 10/22;

under the law, is it that I can put any length barrel on my Ruger 10/22 as long as the overall length is 26.5" or greater? Or is the overall length different for rimfires?

OAL length must be 26.5" or greater, less than that is a restricted firearm. No other restrictions exist for rimfire.

This is a fair point. The Criminal Code numbers are all in metric, which are not exactly the same as the imperial numbers people toss around. The differences are small, but could be crucial if someone got slightly on the wrong side of one of them.

660mm is actually a little shorter than 26", 25.98417" to be exact
