I am building a sporter M98, 7x57 with a long military barrel. I want to leave the barrel nearly full length, as I like the balance. this is not for hunting in the brush. My question is about bedding. Does a long barrel sacrifice accuracy if it is just free floated. Yes, the action will be properly bedded. I am not doing this just for the velocity gain.Thanks

Generally speaking if all other things are equal, a shorter and more stiff barrel is more accurate than a longer and more flexible barrel... but you are not building a target rifle where this would matter... accuracy difference will not be great.
