Barrel liners in Canada?

There was a .32 cal barrel in the EE a bit back. Dunno if it's still available.

Turning a barrel down seems the main option.

Or,just do the import paperwork, and order one from Brownell's.

Seems unlikely that Brownell's can/will send a liner if TOW can't (without an expensive export permit).
What is the "import paper work"?
How is that in regards to a USA export permit?

Will give Brownell's a try, won't hold my breath.

To get an export permit, you need an Import Permit. You don't actually NEED the permit to bring stuff in, but you need to have it for the export paperwork.
Free. Fill it out, send it in, the Cdn Gov't sends it to you. You send it to Brownells, they send it along with their stuff to get the export paperwork sorted out. It's not a process for the guys that need instant gratification. Figure 6 weeks to 3 months full circle. If Brownells CAN export the stuff. Some manufacturers have not paid their fees to be able to export. In which case, being Canadians, we're screwed, and we get to shop in such other few places that may have what we need, like Australia, Britain, or Europe.
You want to talk to Brownells Export dept.
Different than the sales folks that normally take orders.

Know any Icelanders with family in Iceland?

Have the barrel sent to Iceland, then to you in Canada.

Don't need an "import permit" here.... and Iceland is in the Yanks' good books.

What a farce!

We need a Canadian source for these things at FAIR prices (for a change).

Liners have been lumped in with barrels since the export retrictions took hold.
Redman's liners are now exportable by Brownells, if you choose to go through the process.

I don't understand this.
TOW can ship barrels to Canada - but not liners (without an very expensive export permit).
Brownell's probably cannot either.
This is a Homeland Security thing.
Adding $150 to $200 importation cost to a $125 liner is a no go.

TOW can't because they did not pay for a export license only muzzleloader barrels can be sent brownells has the right license

this is what we have to do can't change it whats the twist rate needed in a .32-40 rifle anyway(most of TOW liners have a pistol twist rate its always faster then rifle) maybe a surplus barrel could be turned down and used

f TOW liners have a pistol twist rate its always faster then rifle)

twist rates are based on the length and diameter of the bullet. The longer the bullet, the faster the twist. The twist on a typically short pistol bullet will be slower than for a typically longer rifle bullet, assuming the caliber is the same. The formula is T = 150 x diameter squared over Length or Length is 150 diameter square over twist

My understanding is that TOW will ship cartridge rifle barrels but not liners.

They require additional paperwork on a cartridge rifle barrel; but muzzleloader barrels are good to go.

Not certain of the specifics at this point in time (believe you would need to obtain an export permit for a cartridge barrel) but that's it in a nutshell!
