Barrel makers

My Gaillard barrel is fairly new and I'm no expert on what is or is not accurate. I can state that my new set up is as or more accurate than any of the rifles I have ever owned. The one thing I noticed right away was the lack of copper fouling left behind.

Canada's top HP Silhouette shooter (this year) shoots a 260 remington with a Gaillard. The barrel is much lighter contour than he'd initially planned and is probably the lightest on the line. That sport is hard on barrels. 10 shot strings in ~ 6 mins. and at least 80-100 rds in a day. That rifle after at least three years of competition (that I know of) and that kind of abuse, is still a tack driver.

Nothing wrong with my Gaillard barrel either. IIRC Rembo has one or two of his as well.

And Ted was great to deal with. I'd buy from him any day of the week.

Just got another gun from Hart Rifles in PA, USA 7mmwsm in a 700 action 24" barrel 9.5 twist, with new style fluting I like it , jewell & tubbs pin and mcmillan stock, well this is my 4th gun from them and they did it again its a tacker to say it only weighs 6.7oz after trying a few loads
it just fell in love with H4831sc 67gr with 140gr noslers average of 4 groups .250" at 3100+fps you can go to wwwshortmags.org and go to forums, RANGE REPORTS
and look at Fairly light 7mmwsm 6.,7lbs in Rem 700.
Good luck

How do Pac-nor and Shilen stack up against Gaillard?

Everyone makes good and bad barrels.........bad being used loosely. I would say above and probably below.

They all produce quality barrels.

Karl is a perfectionist. If it ain’t right, it does not leave the shop.
You can’t go wrong

I have put a few JC Custom barrels on. I have a 1:7 twist on my Remington .223 and a 1:12 on my Barnard. I have used Obermeyer, McLennan(s) Bartlein, Krieger(s), they all shoot well and I can't say one will last longer than the next. They all seem to last 4000-4500 before match life is gone.
