Barrel Mirage shields in Canada?

What are our options/sources for barrel mirage shields here in Canada? and is there a particular type that is a favorite?
I've been finding that heat off the barrel sure does make a difference so I gotta solve that one way or another before I shoot again.

Someone once suggested to me that I use a piece of venicean blind (those typical plastic window blinds).

Seen lots of slats from Venetian blinds being used on F Class rifles, held on with pieces of velcro glued to the barrel and the slat.

I use left-over pieces of plastic laminate, held with velcro disk. Starshooter has some nice ones (google is your friend)

venicean blind aluminum you can buy round Velcro at CTC buy the heavy duty ones they work much better than the regular ones

I've got a carbon fiber one from Star Shooter and it's great. Doesn't kink, bend, or crack like a piece of plastic or aluminum blind would. As mentioned, you can get the velcro at CTC, or wherever but I think the Star Shooter one comes with a couple pieces.

Made my own with some help from Dave H.

It's heading to Raton tomorrow.

Cut from clear corrugated plastic patio roofing.

Another option is 2" black/white elastic with velcro stuck and stapled to it. Used them for years and they work well. Easy to store but they tend to stretch out after a year or 2.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking to roll my own if need be, might just do that. I figure white or clear non reflective finish would probably be ideal so it doesn't soak much heat from the sun and ends up making its own mirage too.

If you want higher end mirage band. Star shooter makes a carbon fiber one which is dead ###y.
