Is this pitting or can you not tell from pictures? And if you can't tell, how do you tell? And if it is, can I fix it? And if I can't, can I shoot it?

Run a bore mop through it and see if it's still there. Looks like powder fouling but it could be pitting.

Not a whole lot you can do about it if it is pitting just keep it oiled better.

It's a shotgun so I can't really see it affecting accuracy at all.......and it doesn't look like anything that would cause any safety issues

Give it a good scrub with a metallic brush, cleaner and dry with clean patches, powder fouling will go away, after a good clean, what will be left is likely bore pitting... JP.

Looks like powder residue.
Bore brush then rags.
If this doesn't clean it up, go back to the brush
with solvent on it.
Don't forget to pull your push rod through a rag on
the way out.
