Hi Guys,

Hope this question has not come up before- I have a 12ga Mossberg on which I am considering doing a porting job. Has anyone else thought about/done this?
I know that shotgun propellant is generally finished after 14 inches or so and am looking for a reduction in recoil with those 3.5in Goose loads. (Yes I have the Decelarator pad etc.)

Cheers!

It sometimes reduces recoil.

It DOES make it LOUDER!

It cost too much.

The propellant takes about 26" to burn completely in a shotgun. I read a test where a 32" barrel was cut down 2" at a time, and at 24" there was unburned powder.

As for the recoil pad, see if you can get a Remngton R3.

RePete.
