I just bought my first Remington and received it yesterday. It is a 22-250 VSF Desert Tan Model with the 26 inch fluted barrel. After setting the trigger and cleaning all the packing grease off the outside of the barrel and receiver, I got to work on the inside of the barrel. Are all Remingtons super dirty in the barrel when you get them? I got all the awfull brown colored tar cleaned out of it, there was carbon & copper in the barrel also, which I am guessing is from test firing at the factory. I have pushed quite a few patches down the barrel and am still finding a bit of brownish/black on the patches. If you shine a light on the muzzle now you can't see copper anymore like it was when I first started pushing patches. I shoot Sako's and just have never had to do this much work on a new barrel to clean it before shooting. Any suggestions or advice? Don't want to start shooting before I'm 100% clean

I've used Sweets & Hoppe Elite so far
