View attachment 979774recently bought a used heavy barrel model 70. Was cleaning it up and noticed this in the muzzle end. Have not shot it yet but was looking for some guidance, I realize it's wear but looks weird.

Well looks like button rifling.
They press a hardened steel button down the barrel to cut the rifling. So there is start and stops.

LGS is mostly leupold and Weaver stuff. The 20 moa rail was sitting in a corner covered in dust. Had no other model 70 stuff.
Amazon sells them. Ebay. Can even find them here on the EE from time to time. - dan
