:)

I have a really nice actioned 7mm Rem Magnum, big mauser bolt action, but the barrel is a thin contoured barrel, with some surface rust on it. Love the action, not the barrel.

My question is, where would you all suggest I get the barrel replaced, or, is it worth it to get it replaced?

Located in the GTa, Ontario area.

Any help, graciously appreciated

If you want to stay local (1 1/2hrs) Ellwood Epps(705-689-5333) or Precision Arms, either can be located on the net. If you do get it done it would be nice to hear what you did and where you got it done. Lots of other guys around here have been asking that same question.

If you like the action, stock and trigger, go for it.

Match quality barrel blanks can be pretty inexpensive ($250 to 355) then you have to add the cost of install ($250 to 300). Then whatever way you want to finish it.

With decent factory rifles cost way less money, some will say, this is not the way to go.

But if you love the finished product, who cares. For sure, it will shoot better then most factory rifles.
