Barrel Retailers and Manufacturer Recommendations

Would anyone be able to recommend a vendor that sells rifle barrels? I am looking for 223 Remington, maybe in the Wylde configuration. It would be for a bolt action chassis (Savage or Tikka action).

I asked him a few weeks ago and he said 12 weeks. That means 6-8 months in JC time based on all the other barrels I got from him.

Absolutely. Don't plan your build around his stated lead time. My first barrel took so long I forgot I ordered it.

I hear KS Arms is good if you want to stick to Canadian brands. My shooting group has had pretty mixed/mediocre results with some of the other brands, though the quality of some is supposedly improving.

I've personally had great success with Krieger, HH, Brux and Bartlein.

One of the biggest challenges with barrels these days are finding some in stock. That may dictate your options, especially if you are on a timeline.

Insite Arms, they usually stock quote a few and can have pretty quick turn around, a little more expensive than the others but the quality is there

Another vote for JC! My brother and I ordered 4 barrels off of him last year, and he had them done well within his quoted time.

IBI. I have 2 myself and did load development for my buddies. All 3 are excellent. Very consistent, not picky.
I wouldn’t hesitate to get another.
