I know its not everyones taste, but I wanted a barrel shroud to cover the ugly stepped barrel on my Sub2k after removing the factory sight.
After searching all over I decided to contact E&L Manufacturing down in Oregon to make me a custom shroud.
They asked for the measurements and 9 days later it arrived to my door.
I'm extremely happy with the end product and I would recommend E&L to anyone looking for a shroud.
It cost $75 to my door and the fit and finish are perfect:D
So here's the pics

Nice textured finish and contoured ends

I think it totally changed the overall balance of the gun for the better. I havn't weighted it yet but it seemed pretty light
Cheers

For comparison here's the side by side without and with

That is the nicest barrel shroud on a s2k I've seen to date. Mind pm'ing me the exact details you sent them so I can order on up. Cheers.
Here's what I sent Val at E&L, the end section of the barrel measures .531 inches in dia. And has a length of 3.938 inches. Then the barrel becomes .563 inches in dia. For another 2.875 inches till it goes into the front handguard.
You could prolly just email her, and ask for the same shroud as Jason in Victoria got:)

wow, i love it.
can you post all the aftermarket parts you added? (so i can copy you:))
very nice job!!!

Mods are as listed: Removed front sight, Kel Tec quadrail, 10/30 KCI mag, UTG rail covers, Magpul AFG, UTG .5 riser for my Bushnell TRS-25, E&L barrel shroud, Tacticool Buffer Tube cover and Tacticool operating handle cover.
Still on the way: Pearce extended base plate for the 10rd mag and a Hogue slip on grip

How's the UTG riser? Anything that lifts the sight up a bit is going to make the Sub 2000 more comfortable to shoot and it looks like it's got a quick release which is nice for folding.

How does the shroud attach to the barrel? Are the shroud end caps threaded into the shroud?
I presume its all made of aluminum and power coated or Arma Coated.....

i like the way the width is now the same at the front and back, looks better.
interesting that it changed the overall balance of the gun for the better.
thanks for posting it.

That looks great...a much improved look IMO. And fwiw, Val is a guy :)

Presuming it is the same as the one I got for my JR Carbine, the shroud is fitted at the muzzle end so that the barrel slips inside and there is no play there and the whole thing is retained with an Allen head bolt at the other end of the shroud. The Allen bolt doesn't contact your barrel, it compresses a ring that holds it tight and doesn't mar the finish of your barrel.

I don't know if the end caps are threaded on or not as I've never tried to take mine apart. It is aluminum and powder coated with a really nice durable finish. They definitely do professional work.

thanks man, appreciate. Sending email first thing in the morning,y s2k is pretty much an identical copy minus the sight. I run a Burris fast fire on a dd 1'oclock rail for folding and a viridian just for good measure

Lol, oops on the gender thing (In my defence all communication was by email) :)
This is exactly how mine is retain, allen screw compresses a ring which clamps the barrel tight. Very cool setup, and as above very professional company
