Barrel shroud legal?

Not illegal and no problem importing them as far as Canada is concerned. The issue is the U.S. export laws. You will have to do some paperwork and get an Canadian import permit (to prove to the U.S. that you are not an evil terrorist who wants to dress up his rifle.)

If you order from Brownells they will send you the forms that need to be completed and the web address of the Canadian government department that issues the import permit. It all sounds pretty complicated but is actually fairly easy. Look in the Legalese section of this forum and you will see a sticky that has a tutorial on importing stuff through Brownells. Just follow the directions.

I thought that it was only the barrels, stocks and scopes that needed an import licence. I'm glad I asked the question. I found a barrel shroud off e-bay for my gun. I just didn't want any hassle gov't or shipping wise.
Thank-you!
