Barrel smiths

I want to get in on the Super Stock action on rimfirecentral.com, are there any gunsmiths who will recrown and bentz chamber a stock barrel north of the border? I think bitofpieces will do it but his prices are 3 times what they pay in the states for the same services.

Grant I am sure of any gunsmiths but another route if you choose to for a superstock would just to get a GM sporter barrel. I think that is under superstock status ;).
 
GM doesn't make 597 barrels and I kind of want to try and make a decent performing SS out of one of those. I think they have it in them.

Sorry Grant, just assumed you were talking about a 10/22. Try a search in the gunsmithing forum as this topic has been covered before and I am sure you will be able to find a smitht that will be able to do that work at a reasonable price :)
 
That would be a good idea in my opinion :) - Especially since you may be customizing. You can get a GM sporter barrel for about $140 new probably. I am not sure of anyways to buy them from the states currently - best luck would probably get one from the equipment exchange. I think there is one in there actually right now for $150.
