I have a CZ 452 American in 22 WMR. Is it possible to change the barrel out to 22 RF? How about the magazine? Could you use the same magazine?
If so where would you buy a barrel to fit?

22 WMR and 22RF are fundamentally different platforms. The work involved for such a conversion will be cost prohibitive and likely end badly anyway. If you want a 22RF, then buy a 22RF.

22 WMR could easily be converted to 17HMR because that is the same platform.

452 barrels are threaded into the reciever. So while not impossible, just require a bunch of tools.

Cannot see the mags working with 22LR.

You are not just changing barrels, you are changing cartridges. Different bolt face, different magazines.

Changing the barrel is the least of the problems with the proposed conversion. I tried to say it in a short & direct manner. Guntech has posted some of the details of the problems w this conversion.

He didn't mention the difference in action length, bolt throw and the problems that will cause with feeding shorter rounds from a magazine.

Basically this kind of thing would be like asking if a Ferrari could be converted into a dump truck.

Could it? Sure.

However it would be way more expensive than just buying a dump truck and the end result wouldn't be nearly as good as just buying a dump truck. If you want a dump truck, just buy a dump truck.

Just buy a 457 and you swap barrels to your hearts content. 17hmr, 22lr, 22 mag. They keep the same bolt
