What barrel? How much precision? Can the barrel be removed from the receiver? These can make a big difference in time, and therefore, cost.
I just installed a brake on my own barrel.
Ran it through the spindle, indicated the breech end in the spider, used a plug gauge in the bore to indicate the muzzle end in the 4 jaw chuck, less than .001" total indicated runout. Cut the threads carefully, until the brake would screw on without any wiggle. Crowned the muzzle. Installed the brake, bored it out to clearance diameter, .010" per side, twenty thou total. Installed the barrel on the receiver, removed the brake and shaved its shoulder so that it would index.
Took a couple of hours, all in.
Or, the breech of the barrel could be held in the chuck, the muzzle on the tail center, the threads cuts, and the crown touched up as needed. Use peel or crush washers to index, if required. This simpler method will work, particularly if the brake has a fairly large passage; the first method is more precise.
So, the cost could run from $50 to perhaps $200. Half hour vs two hours.
