Yeah, no schit... I've done it.
But It has me thinking about these Model Sevens an their pencil dck barrels!!
I've settled a 35 Whelen down to shoot acceptable groups by what I can only recall as wrapping Duct tape around the barrel end a few times... This, playing with the Harmonics of said barrel.... No other explination.
I did it to the Kimber too I rekon, iirc. It has a few wraps of Elec tape on the muzzle end, 1 inch back.
So I wrapped some on the Model Seven, just after the forend and at the muzzle, I plan on testing this theory with some 180gr corelokt factories on which it didn't really seem to love....
But
I will also be reloading the 165gr Hot cors in due time an plan on developing a load with it on initially aswell...
The Idea will be to perhaps 'stoffen' or alter the Harmonics of the barrel an see if it helps.
I realise I proberly should and May darn well develop with NO tape at first, so that could change ..
Anyone else ever used Tape to tune a barrel??
