barrel twist questions

I have bought a lightly used savage axis .223 questions are
1) how do I find the barrel twist?
2) what twists did this rifle come in?
3) is it important for me to know the twist rate?

any hep would be great

2. 1:9, in .223 - 1
3. 1:9 tends to stabilize lighter bullets better than heavier bullets in this caliber. But it also depends on the barrel. But should be OK for any factory load IMO.

Up to 69gr with the 1:9, some 75's will be ok.

The axis is a 1 in 9" for the 223. Mine shoots 40gr all the way up to some 77gr bullets very well. I shoot a lot of the 53gr vmax though.
