Im looking to finally upgrade my CZ457 barrel but not up on the options.

Looking for a drop in barrel that will fire a reasonably broad selection of ammo from Norma Tac to Lapua and SK offerings.
What should I be looking at for brands and twist rate etc?

There are numerous good choices with the numbers seemingly growing by the day. The above recommendation is excellent but I do not know what there delivery it like. L3i recently announced their 457 drop in and it has excellent reviews. KS is a Canadian manufacturer that has it's proponents. The Canadian retailer "Tesro" has some choices that you might wish to investigate. Being more specific I can personally recommend IBI. They are in B.C. I have two of their barrels one on a Deuce and one one a Tikka TX1. I consider them both exceptional. You cannot polish a turn and you cannot expect even the very best barrels to get $7.00 ammo to perform miraculously. The IBI barrels are not picky about what they get fed but as the expression goes "you are what you eat"! ( 22" 16 twist no real reason to try a 14 other than curiosity on my part )

What 457 barrel do you have now? What is wrong with it?
Its a 20 inch varmint barrel nothing wrong with it just looking at tweaking out accuracy and pushing more weight to the front so I've weighed up just adding more weights onto the chassis but by the time you add enough its into $100-200.
I'll also possibly buy another cz457 and just switch out that barrel but its already a 20 week ordering time so may as well get it ordered.

At some point I got myself a CZ457 MTR and shot it for a month or so, and then I got myself an IBI barrel that I then shot for over 6 months and kept my MTR barrel in a safe. Then I decided to flip back to the original MTR barrel and I was blown away how well the rifle would group with the original barrel... so now I am a huge believer in the CZ quality. more often than not, the ammo would make a lot more difference than swapping barrels.. also, a tuner is something I have on all my rifles :)
