JEC, please go to their site to see what you can come up with - we have no more time for numbers at present.

Peter, thank you for that info.
I am curious, is there predominantly just one caliber used by all shooters, or is it a bunch, or 2-3main ones?
Probably also no way to know but I’d also like to see what the barrel make up, and twist rates these pro level shooters are running?

I just looked at 2017 1000 yd Nationals which gave equipment lists for the top 30 in both Light Gun and Heavy Gun. I didn’t count all, but the list you posted held to be a pretty good indicator of the rank order. Bottom line is that Kreiger significantly outshined it’s competition. Light Gun 13/30. Heavy Gun 15/30.

The 6 Dasher is probably the most frequently mentioned both in LG and HG categories.
EDIT: Didn’t see any bullet info in the Nationals Equipment Lists, but a look at some of the other matches suggest lots of 105gr Bergers are used...which are stabilized by 1:8 twist barrels.

Lots of talk about barrels but I think the gunsmith is were it's at can have all the best parts in the world but if you don't know how to put them together what good are they.....

I think we can be pretty confident that the top dog shooters are using the top dog smiths .... with top dog barrels.

Of course I like Krieger - as, apparently do many - but I also like a number of brands like Benchmark and Hawk Hill that don't get a mention. Frankly, I am surprised to see Krieger so very dominant.

Bob, Hawk Hill is mentioned. If a brand is not mentioned it is because they are not used as they are not considered up to scratch. You should not be surprised about Krieger as this is old news in that they have dominanted for years and today still so. Nice to see Brux so successful - we like their home page in which they simply state they make cut-rifled barrels and don't say they are the best or other BS!

Other brands are common in disciplines in which top reliable absolute accuracy is not required.

Best regards,

Peter

So disciplines like F-Class????..........

I did not include the clones... I am not familiar with some of the actions...obvious clones would be the Stillers which were 1/30 for LG and 3/30 for HG.
Would be nice to be sponsored...or rich enough to buy the highest end kits lol.
1km is fun shooting, but I have to do it on the cheap, otherwise I would not be playing.
I'm happy enough getting hits and keeping groups under MOA. I swear when I retire, I'm buying the cheapest run down farm around that I can shoot out to 1000+ right off the back deck.
