Barrett REC7

certain Barrets are prohib by name...
fortunately this does not apply to all... as mentioned, check wolverine, they are kind enough to make this bad boy available ..... for a price :)

barretts are prohib by name i think . not to sure but if that's the case then it would be a no.

Time to do some reading, my friend - Barrett M82A1's are prohibited by name, but there are Barretts which are just fine.

Don't paint with too broad of strokes. ;)

ya i was just thinking out loud should have researched ahead of the out loud part.... it happens .

that 98 bravo is gorgeous!

There are two people at Poco range that own these and they are freaken laser beam's. They are so accurate that they shoot out all the retaining devices that hold up the gongs @ 200. I seen 5 shot groups that all fit under a dime @ 200m. But for more info I think the mods should move this to the precision rifle fourm.

Sounds intreasting... So it is possiable to get my hands on one. I havn't contacted Wolverine yet, been flatout here at work... Thanks for your input

I always maintained that the fact that Canadian government prohibits civilians from owning Barret M82 or M95 just means that Canadian government cares about us and would much rather that we'd own McMillan TAC 50 (which is arguably a "better" rifle).

J/k

And yes, I know that TAC 50s can't be exported due to ITAR. However the old Ottawa S**tizen database lists quite a few of them in civilian hands in Canada, most in la belle province.

Barret firearms are are not prohibited by name.

One or two .50's they make are prohibited but no .50's can leave the US anyway.

All of the Barrett .50's and .416's are now prohib (At least all models I could find on the FRT). Was not always the case.

I'm sure you all already know but the REC7/M468 are restricted, 98/98B are non-restricted.

As far as I know, Barrett only exports the REC7 for LE/Mil... could be wrong though.

I was talking to Ryan from Wolverine Supplies the other day and he told me that when they tried to import the REC7, the US statedepartment would not approve the export permit for commercial sale.

Satain.. You think you could find out some info from some locals at Poco range as to how these guys got their hands on a REC7..?

I believe Satain was referring to the BravO 98 (.338Lapua) rather than the REC7....
