Barricade stop for Anschütz rail?

I'm looking for a barricade stop that will mount to an Anschütz rail. So far the only one I found is made by Really Right Stuff which mounts their barricade stop to an adapter plate ($115 US to buy both).

Does anyone know of any other manufacturers? Anything more affordable out there?

I think the second from left might be their Anschütz version

The RRS stuff looks great, they currently wont sell any of their SOAR to Canadians. Well, they won't ship it here.

The other option is get a atlas pic rail section to the anschutz rail and then your options open up. I think Noveske makes one.

Any gun nutz go across the border often? Most of the SOAR products are under $500 so I think (as in pretty sure but not 100%) it would be fully legal to send them to a US address and then pick them up and drive them accross the border.

This is something I've given alot of thought to, the problem for me is the fulcrum on my aics chassis is just barely Infront of the magwell and not where the anschutz rail is located. With the stock skins in place being rounded, it wasn't conducive to using it as a barricade stop ....until I busted out a jig saw and a straight edge. The metal backbone in the aics is perfect but the plastic sides drop down like a belly near the mag. I'll post pictures of my "hack" (literally) when I get back to a computer.

I think this mod is what you mean. I'm still deciding if I have the balls to hack up my AW skins. I'm leaning towards no since they are no longer made, plus I like the idea of having steel teeth to bite into the barricade.

What I'd really like is what the GIGN have on their AI's. They have an extra bipod mount in front of the magwell but I'm sure this was specially made at their request during manufacture.

Yeah. Like that but I took all the plastic out right back to the metal on the mag well. Idea being I can make a small plate with teeth and thread it to the metal on the chassis if I really need more bite.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to try the RRS barricade stop this winter. Just need to wait for them to get a picture up of their Anschütz mount

Ok I think I have found a cheap solution. I'm going to take a handstop down to the machine shop and have then mill some angled grooves into it. That should bite into the barricade and it will be as far back on the rail as possible since it is small.

Worth a try before I shell out 115 US plus shipping.

Sorry for the delay in posting those pictures.
As I noted, the problem I find is the rifle with most barrel lengths and contours, strikes a balance point slightly forward of the magazine well. Ideally you would like a flat spot there with a 90* wall to get the most stable position. Problem is, my AICS skins and these Victor company skins have a radius/ belly that makes the rifle act like a seasaw:

So after taking the skins off and examining the underlying metallic backbone of the chassis, I realized that belly could be removed without compromising any integrity for mounting and function. As you can see from above, there are some nice lines molded into the plastic skins on the inside to follow as a cutting guide. I started with a small handsaw and realized I wasn't patient enough. Turns out the jigsaw worked way faster and cleaner:

When cut correctly, you can see the mounting holes are left perfectly intact with plenty of material around them. The result was:

The cut closest to the foreground was with the jigsaw, the rougher one was with a handsaw. Both have been sanded smooth now and look cleaner. The result is a rifle that now natural settles into a steady, balanced position on various barricades. It can be loaded into the magwell now without riding up over the belly onto the mag (which for some may cause feeding issues). I'm a butcher I know, I don't care. Its plastic that can be replaced.

Thanks arcticcathonda. The more I try to use the rifle on barricades, the more I realize I will need to do the same thing you did. Every other option is just too far forward. I will need to make some "competition use skins".

Yes, if you are worried, buy a set to cut. I might experiment with making some teeth that affix to the from of the magwell if slipping becomes a problem, so far not an issue.

Good to hear. I have two sets of old school skins (no way am I cutting them) and one set of the new style (which I'm indifferent to). The new style skins will get the chop. Then I can just quickly swap the front sections if I'm doing prs type stuff that day.

I have a dremmel cutter so piece of cake. Nice level by the way, I really like my Accuracy 1st.

If the hand stop is round. Just leave it like that and try it. I strongly feel you will want some type radius on the stop as you will certainly not be perpendicular to most of your barricades.
I just turned a round stop that mounts at the front action screw. I don't have a knurling tool for my lathe yet so I jut stuck some grip tape to it. The prototype worked even better than I expected so I have no desire or reason to change it. It looks to be about the same diameter as that hand stop.
Just an idea.

Perfect balance achieved!! :d

Your mod worked arcticcathonda, this rifle will now balance on barricades and has a stop. Once I put a heavier barrel on I may not even need the bipod as counterweight (will go from med palma to heavy palma),

Just gotta contour the sharp edges, put sticky velcro underneath on the rail and it's good to go.

I'm very tempted to do this.

arcticcathonda you might have mentioned it but I missed it, are those are Viperskins or AI skins you cut? I have both but want to do it to the Viperskins.
