Barrie 3 gun today

I wish I could come. Sounds like AMA here and EESA have the same philosophies for 3 gun.

We always have 200m shots (due to only having a 200m range) but we plan on a few 300m this year (expanding the big range to 600...) at the match in the fall.

Here is one of Diablo on his first ever outdoor IPSC course of fire.

(please excuse the massive amount of posting of my son..............I am one proud Dad!)

on the 3 gun matches, do you only wear rifle mags for the rifle stages? Say you are using a chest rig that has mixed shotgun and rifle shell holders? No problem? Do you unpack your guns prior to shooting or do you have to lug all your cases around with you the whole day? Do you wear your handgun at all times? Just wondering If I have to constantly repack stuff. For rifle and shotgun are they left on a bench until you shoot?

IPSC 3 gun only allows you to wear one gun at at time.

For our crew we just kept all our guns in my Magnum and drove from range to range.

One range for handguns.........so all you need was your handgun. The same with the rifle and shotgun stages. Each has its own range.

Some day I am going to build a 3 gun cart that I can walk around from range to range and keep everything organized.

Can I drive my SUV around EESA? Or do I like need to bring a doly for all my cases? Or is there enough time to go pack/ unpack from the vehicle between sections? I have my AR in a large Storm case, pistol in another case and shottie in another large case.

No driving around EESA at this point until we get the new roads in......but there should be time to get your gear between ranges.

Oh and here is JohnMC putting his handgun through its paces.

On a slightly different slant; I've seen target / wall placement like that too many times to not say something - whoever is setting up these matches like that - please stop!

A 4' wall on it's side + a target 5' away on the ground is simply unfair to anyone shorter than average; women and juniors.
Diablo should not have had to get to his tippy toes. We're testing shooting skill, not your height.

The stage was not unfair to anyone. As the 4' wall was a vision barrier and hard cover only. The competitor could if they wished engaged the target from the side. Which would have allowed all target to be seen. This was illustrated in the stage description and given to all competitors. I was not the stage designer but was one of the two (Stormbringer and myself) CRO's of the Rifle range.

Dam I think Diablo is taller then me anyway

All in all a good match.

Cheers

I know he does not.............I Just skimed the message and assumed (wrongfully) that the message was for the 3 gun results.

I excitedly jumped onto the IPSC Ont site to see and...............there they werent. I then went back and actually READ the email.
