CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE BARRIE GUNCLUB WOULD BE A GOOD CLUB TO JOIN FOR SKEET AND TRAP SHOOTING? I HAVE SHOT TRAP USING MECHANICAL THROWERS ON THE FARM AND I ALWAYS ENJOYED IT ALOT. I WOULD LIKE TO TRY THE REAL THING. MAYBE YOU CAN RECOMMEND ANOTHER CLUB IN THE AREA. :canadaFlag:
 
I can't speak to the Barrie Club since I only shot skeet there once, about six years ago. Toronto International Trap and Skeet is near Cookstown and has trap, skeet and bunker. Nice facility.
 
Barrie is not busy enough. They have their moments during the nice weather when there are a fair amount of people and the skeet / trap field is busy.
(1 Skeet, 1 Trap and 1 5-stand set-up)

But there are times when you are doing a round of Skeet on a Sunday with one other guy........

It is also a Morning Club. Most of the shotgunning takes place 9am - noon.

I've been to T.I.T.S quite a few times. I would say the predominant sport there is trap and is usually well organized. It seems the skeet fields get used as an afterthought and not always properly monitored. By that I mean you will sometimes get 8 or 9 guys shooting on one field. People not wearing protective equipment. Taking more than one shot at a clay or trying to break the pieces. I know to some people this may not seem like a big deal but I personally don't feel safe when some of this is going on. I just leave.
