I bought one of the Barska rear receiver cover scope mount and was told some slight filing may be needed. Well holy crap after extensive filing to get this pig to fit the pin is nowhere near able to slide in place, and the bolt binds in the receiver. Is there any other producers of these around. I'd still like to get optics on..

Sorry comrade, the best thing to do now is too pick it up, throw it in the garbage, or use it as a duck decoy weight. Although there will be people out there that tell you receiver cover scope mount systems work, a VAST majority of SKS owners including me will assure you that in the long run, they are GARBAGE. Many of which are talking from direct experience, and a $30 dollar void in their bank account.

AS for proper, well reviewed, and proven reliable SKS scope mount options, to name a few there is:

-Wartak/Magwedge style of rails
-Choate/Promag permanent bolt on mounts
-BC scout style mounts

and many more...

I wouldn't trust anything barska after seeing my brother in-law brand new spotting scope can't see bullet holes at 100 yd at 25x when my scope could see it clearly at 9x

I guess I'm in the minority cuz iv had no problems with the weaver rear cover i got from cantire for 6$ spent about 1.5 to 2 hrs grinding and filing and it fits snug and holds well with my strike fire and 3x mag.

Well I did talk to Barska direct and they sympathize but thats as far as the support goes. They requested pics and I sent them...they said "yep you filed it right" but nothing else offered... Nice
