Hey guys. Tried this on the optical thread and was getting no responses so I thought I might as it here.

My awesome wife just bought a tikka tactical in .300 win mag for christmas and totally surprised me. anyways I've been thinking alot about what kind of glass and bases and rings I should put on this. The glass was no a problem in deciding but I'm having a hard time in figuring out what kind of bases and rings I should put on. since it's going to be a sightron siii 10x50-56mm i don't want to cheap out. what kind of ring and bases should I be using.

Don't forget that this rifle has a picatinny rail already on it.

If it already has a pic rail there is no need for bases. I would recommend any good quality rings that are compatible. Badger, Near, Seekins, NF to name a few. The Burris Signature Zee rings are pretty darn good too for the price, plus you can add cant with the polymer inserts.

I used TPS and Nightforce rings on my rails. Impressed with both. TPS aluminum ones are quite a bit lighter than steel.

Any quality brand will serve you well. Just make sure you buy the right height! Surprisingly, I'm using TPS 'lows' on my tikka varmint with NF 5.5-22x56 and it juuuust fits.

Are you going to shoot long distance? If so, you want to replace the cheap Tikka Pic rail with a good one that has 20-25 MOA inclination. I got a nice one for my TikTac from Joe in Spruce Grove ( apparently He Shall Not Be Named) a few years ago. Any good quality tactical ring will be fine, TPS, EAW, Nightforce, etc.
