Anyone know who might retail a basic non-fulding clamp-on front BUIS for an AR15 in Canada? Questar has them on their sight as a special order item, I'm more interested in something that is in stock.

Basically I need a reasonably priced non-folding front sight that will fit this:

This is the DPMS version which seems to be for a gas block site at Brownells, but I don't see a retailer for it in Canada.

Machined, steel, detachable front sight lines up at the perfect height for A2s and A3s. Serrated clamp screw tightens unit to Weaver or Picatinny gas blocks or front sight bases. Skeletonized center lightens weight and lets you mount sling attachments. Parkerized finish matches the look of your barrel. Sight post adjusts for elevation.

Yankee Hill makes gas block fixed and folding BUIS. Or you could just use a clamp-on front sight tower, provided the 9mm barrel is the right diameter.

Yeah, this YHM sight would be PERFECT.

Gas Block Mounted Front Fixed Sight
$50.00
YHM-9495
This sturdy front sight mounts to our railed gas blocks to provide a convenient, reliable back-up sight for your firearm. It uses the thumb screw (included) to quickly attach and detach from the gas block. Made from aircraft quality aluminum and hardcoated to military specifications. Accepts all standard AR sight posts and hardware (included).

I have one of those on a VZ58 and it isn't nice enough for an AR. It's cheap and poorly made. It's also a "same plane" sight, not a gas block height sight.

Grr... looking at the YHM website, I now also want their fixed rear BUIS!!! It looks more solid than the LMT version and is held by two screws vice one with full-length friction.

Why isn't anyone stocking YHM??? Or are they and I just don't know who it is??

If their gas block front and fixed rear sights were available in Canada for anything approaching a realistic price, I would buy them.

If you want a fixed FSB why not have an A2 FSB installed? Armalite has a clamp on version or a gunsmith could pin one for you.

I sell YHM product and generally same prices than YHM website, but for now all sold out.

If this is the 9mm you were asking about in the other thread, I take it you weren't able to find a complete 9mm AR other than the 7 inch RRA pistol at Questar?

Also, did you snag the last 10.5" 9mm upper from Questar? It doesn't seem to be listed any more....

No, I got this upper private sale form a friend of mine.

I don't know who bought that upper...???

The Questar "pistol" is probably a decent deal when you figure a stripped 9mm lower is $499, but I can build one MUCH cheaper than that. Especially if you get a 5.56 lower and, for example, buy their Spikes Tactical lower conversion block for under $200.
