Just took my GSG16 down - wondering if there exists any takedown pins that can replace those awkward screw sets where you have to hold a screwdriver on one side while unscrewing on the other?

I bought my pair of takedown pins from user pcwgr1 via the EE. Also sells stuff on that other site where stuff gets bought and sold but we're not allowed to name it here. They sold me a nicely made 3-mag pouch as well. Very happy with the pins, but I don't know if they're genuine HK or not, and don't really care as they work well in my GSG-16.

I also modified the bolt carrier stop plate such that it slips into position with a little knob on the back to handle it, instead of using another cheap screw as it was stock. It is retained by a block of plastic I made to keep it there, which gives just enough room for the bolt carrier and for the end cap at the back. I can get the bolt out in under half a minute for cleaning without any tools, which makes this gun much more satisfying to use. Really dislike all the factory screws. But the takedown pins help a lot, leaving just that one screw for the stop plate needing a tool if you don't want to get into making a complicated part with holes for the guide rods.

Yeah, that bolt stop piece with the screw (which I swear over time I will strip it) - wish it was designed differently so I don't have to jiggle it around to get it to fit.

There is also the matter of that little spring in the middle inside the receiver against the wall that has a propensity to pop out - doesn't look like it's being held in by much if anything.

I shall look into the takedown pins from that user. Thanks for the suggestion.

I put a dab of thick grease on one end of the little spring. Doesn't fly out that way. Learned that trick with the Crosman air pistol safeties which have a tiny ball bearing on the end of the spring - before I decided to just remove the cross-bolt safeties on my Crosman airguns because they don't really need a safety. I mean, if the gun is cocked it's because I'm about to shoot it... and if I'm lining up on a squirrel the last thing I want is to pull the trigger and find I've forgotten to unlock the safety. Don't gum up the spring with too much grease. Just a bit on one end should be plenty.

Im looking for the takedown pins for my gsg16. I send request to pcwgr1. Hopefully will get in touch.
