Bass Pro Shops buying Cabela's

I have never seen a reason to shop at either. Prices are never good in the first place nor selection for
more interesting or less common items etc Maybe there is a 'loss leader' sale sometime to get people in
the door on a few items now and then but that was it. You lost any savings on anything else you bought.

Always supported online retailers we have here and the various local FNGS that are much closer to me than the
box stores.

That's a shame. I've never really liked bass pro but do like cabelas. Not the ones up here in Canada really, but the ones south of the border are nice. I like the gun libraries

I've always preferred Cabelas. The only reason I ever liked bass pro is they allowed my dog in their store when it was hot outside. I needed a few things and was trying to explain to my wife what I needed so I'd stay outside with my dog. A worker over heard us and brought out water for the dog and let me bring him in. I always stop in when I pass but rarely do I buy anything. Cabelas well I'm always buying on line. I do miss going to their stores in the states. Damn exchange rates.
I wonder if they're going to keep the Cabelas product lines the same?

I thought cabelas and bass pro were dog friendly like wss?

That sucks, I won't buy from the bass pro in Calgary because of their bull#### policy not to sell restricted firearms. Then again I don't buy anything from cabelas either but if I had the choice......

Same here. I always preferred Cabelas. I found Cableas clothing and gear to be of higher quality than the redhead brand from Bass Pro. I also miss going to the US Cabelas stores :( Sucks I wonder what will happen in Moncton NB where there is a Cabelas and Bass Pro store, also wondering what will happen in Halifax NS where a Cabelas was slated to open next year.

Might be a city issue more than a Bass Pro policy

The original plans for the Vaughan Ontario Bass Pro had them selling restricteds and had an indoor gun range.

Vaughan/York Region council stepped in and said no way to the restricteds and range.

Bass Pro is dog friendly, but Cabelas, which is supposed to be an outdoor store, and sell gear for dogs, won't allow dogs in the store no matter how hot it is. It's because they sell fudge.
If I wanted fudge I'd go to a candy store. I don't shop at Cabelas anymore.
