Heads up:

Just got back from Bass Pro Vaughan Mills and they have a quickly dwindling supply of .22lr.

Federal Champion lead round nose - $2.49/50

Remington Golden Bullet High Velocity - $3.99/50

Some other Remington - $5.99/50

CCI Mini Mag (36gr & 40gr) $8.49/100

Dude said the CCI just arrived on Friday and after I bought 5, they got about 20 packs left.

If you work that out to a box of 500 those are not great prices.

Well, unfortunately you gotta take what you can get nowadays.

I went to Sail Oshawa yesterday with a buddy who wanted my help picking out some fishing gear. Normally
i avoid Sail. While there I looked at their ammo section.

They had 100 round packs of CCI .22LR for $19.99. Insane.

That is probably the green tag stuff- and that is high, but not insane for green tag. The $8.50 for mini-mags isn't terrible either- that's the equivalent of $4.25 a box. The last brick of that I bought was a few years ago at $33 or $3.30 a box. Yes it has gone up, but it was a few years ago!

I have to agree ,as these days you pretty much snap up the good stuff while it`s out on the shelves ,prices be damned ! The cheap .22 ammo (the good stuff) are days gone ,the crappy stuff is out there ,but who wants it ,although beggers can`t be choosers ,so stock up when you may.

I was going through some old Cabelas USA shooting catalogs (2004 ,2005 ,2007 and 09) and it makes your jaw want to hit the ground when you see what ammo prices were back then ,not to mention centerfire rifle and handgun........SHEESH !

yup, keep buying it regardless of price, really let the companies know how much your willing to be ####ed in the ass.

I guess it's only a matter of time before all the stores increase their prices. So far LeBarons still seems to be a holdout with bricks of 500rnds as low as $23 and Remington buckets of 1400rnds for $65.
The family owned store I buy all my target grade 22lr from (Eley, RWS, and Norma) was selling it for ~$50/brick a couple years ago and it's only gone up to ~$60/brick. With prices of regular US made ammo reaching those levels I guess they'll have to increase prices or even the premium imported stuff will sell out.

Good old supply and demand, don`t you love it ! To make matters worse ,you can`t reload the frick`n things ,so what you gonna do.

So glad I bought a few thousand rounds while in the USA(Cabelas and Scheels) before all the 9/11 ,homeland security etc. stuff happened.

Then notices of metal prices going up and the need for ammo to supply troops etc. (of course not rimfire) ,where does it end.

Indeed, expose your gonads and expect free prostate exams in the future !

Was at Lebaron in Markham Saturday. All they had was Winchester 222 round packs for $10.36 and some bricks of Remington .22 Short.

Looking at their catalogue, they sell the Remington Golden Bellet for $0.54 less per 50 and the CCI Mini Mag for $1.40 less per 100 tan Bass Pro.

So, the amount of Remington Golden Bullet and Mini Mag I bought today it cost me $9.70 plus tax more at Bass Pro.

God only knows when Lebaron will have it back in stock.

Went to Bass Pro this weekend. They were cleaned out of the Mini Mag's.

Ended up getting some Green Tag at Sail.
