I have a collection of battle maps of the 8th Army. These maps were used by the Canadian Army. There are many pictures so I will break it up.
Maps for the Italian campaign were made using the Italian Touring Club, arial photgraphy and inteligence reports.
Of course, the maps were Top Secret!
The battle dispositions at Ravenna, on the Adriatic and directly East of Bologna. The Canadians, Polish, Australians, New Zealanders marched up the Adriatic coast and mountains.
Another engagement at the village of Pancrazio, slightly Southwest of Ravenna.
A road map of the area of Ravenna. All the maps were made with fabric and coated to resist moisture.
The advance west from Ceprano.
The attack on Fusignano, Norrthwest of Ravenna.
Road map of Tuscanny and Arezzo. There is a Commonwealth Cemetery justa few Km North of Arezzo.
This battle map of Ceprano was done mainly with arial photography.
Troup advances at the edge of the map.
Part of the collection that I found in the early 80s.
Henry
Arnheim and the others, latter!
