I have a collection of battle maps of the 8th Army. These maps were used by the Canadian Army. There are many pictures so I will break it up.

Damn. I collect 19th century maps of Canada but I have to tell you I've got a serious case of envy... Good find.

Here is dad in the hills of Tuscany:

He was a driver for an officer setting up AA sites as the front advanced. He was with the 2nd Corp Polish Army. The picture was taken in 1945. Notice the lambskin vest. It had fur on the inside and kept him warm throughout the campain. His beloved jeep was in top shape from landing in Sicily to Northern Italy. He put a screen in the gas intake to keep the blackmarketers from stealing his gas. BTW, the gas tank was under the drivers seat! After 1945, he was relagated to the transport command. He drove a 3/4 ton Dodge until 1949.

Henry;)
