Just curious if the bausch and lomb's line of scopes is or was made by bushnell. Does bausch and lomb still make scopes? Has anyone used these, are they any good? I've seen a few up on the EE and they have a cool look to them. I was thinking about getting one to add to the collection. Does anyone carry them new? Or is there a website that has more info on them? I did a search and Bushnell's website keeps coming up. Thanks...

Why do you think the Bushnell line has been going so strong for the last 15 years??;)

They are Bushnell now.

Any B & L scope is of good quality.

There old 3000 and 4000 series turned into the Elite 3200 and 4200 of Bushnell.

Hummm... So I guess they don't make them under the name bausch and lomb anymore?

Bushnell has made riflescopes for more than 50 years.

Bausch & Lomb's Elite 3000 riflescope was acquired by Bushnell Outdoor Products and renamed the Bushnell Elite 3200 in 2001. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, Bushnell has produced sports optics for more than 50 years. After acquiring the rights to manufacture the Elite 3000, the company improved on what was already a trusted riflescope with its own features.

The most prominent refinement of the Elite 3200 in comparison to the Elite 3000 is the lens coating. Coating the lens reduces glare and light loss to provide a brighter, higher-contrast image. There are four types of coatings: coated, fully coated, multi-coated and fully multi-coated. Bushnell's Elite 3200 is multi-coated with magnesium fluoride, which means it receives multiple layers of coating on at least one lens surface.

The scope also has a patented lens coating that resists image distortions caused by moisture. It is constructed from a one-piece aluminum alloy tube and purged with dry nitrogen to remove internal moisture, before being sealed with O-rings. The scope is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, and has an anodized finish for corrosion and wear resistance. The design has been recoil-tested to 1,000 rounds from a .375 magnum rifle.

Bushnell doesn't make scopes, B&L hasn't made a scope since the steel tube jobs out of Rochester in the 60s.

Most scope lines are nothing more than brand name and a distributor network.
